2020 Community Clean-up

It is Clean Sweep time! Now through May 28th, Chickaloon residents may join the community effort to get trash off our streets and highway. Due to COVID-19, this year's effort has, like everything else, been scaled back and modified.

Cleanup Supplies: Limited cleanup supplies -- plastic bags and litter grabbers -- are available at Chickaloon Essentials.

Trash Drop Off: Drop off collected trash at the designated area of the Community Center parking lot by noon on May 28th, 2020 separated as follows:

  • Mat-Su Borough Road Service Area (RSA) Pile - this disposal expense is paid through Borough dump fees
  • Non-RSA Pile - this disposal expense is paid from community funds since the Adopt-A-Highway program has been suspended.
  • Recycling Pile - recycling, preferably sorted - decreases the overall cost

Contributed time and labor cleaning up are greatly appreciated and directly benefits our community. Please take care to be safe along the roadways, wear a reflective vest and/or brightly colored clothing. If you have a vehicle that can be used to haul trash, wish to coordinate or need more details about Clean Sweep contact me, Kristine Kennedy, at 907-209-8909.

e spread the word if you know of new residents or anyone else who would like to be invited to join us.

We'll look forward to seeing you out there and really appreciate everyone's contributions to this community endeavor!
